Here are just some testimonial statements from diners:
“The best sushi in Manchester”
The sushi here is delicious! The sashimi is fresh and tasty and the gyoza and tempura are delicious. Sauvignon Blanc was a bit expensive but very tasty and cold. The staff have been attentive and friendly every time I have visited. The bento boxes are a must! Very filling and tasty. The banquet menus are tempting but there is just way too much! The decor is a bit dated and the dining space is a bit cluttered with random things, but I am not bothered about this sort of thing when the food is so good. I think the place is charming! There is also a little shop downstairs which sells a wide range of japanese goods. People who are writing bad reviews clearly do not appreciate the quality of the food. 80% of the customers in the restaurant have been Japanese when I have been in; always a good sign!
“You would be crazy to miss it!”
I am a self confessed sushi addict and I must confess this place is one of the best sushi restaurants I have been to in the uk! Really great food and amazing value.
The menu is impressive and the staff have always been fantastic!
“Good Value For Money”
They food at Samsi whitworth street it's getting better especially the sushi at lunch times. Not always consistent but it's alway a good place to visit.
Very happy staff and approaching Manageress.
I would recommend the Samurai feast as you get to try a little of everything for a reasonable price.
Flora tea it's amazing, sake and Sapporo 650ml imported beer it's excellent.
The most amazing thing it's Head Chef speaks to you when passing by.
Well done to the whole team.
“Fantastic!” Very, very impressed with this restaurant. Had an absolute feast - called a Samauri banquet with my family at this restaurant, two of whom told me they didn't like Japanese food as they didn't like Sushi. The sushi was that good they ate more than us. But there was a lot more to this meal than sushi. Miso soup, oodles of crispy chicken/ seafood and veg and that was before we got on to the main. The main itself was astonishing - beautiful terayaki salmon, great steak and some beautiful noodles - even the rice was delicious. We are a family of big eaters and my aunt and uncle were sceptical about Japanese food - but by the end of it I felt like I had stuffed a pillow into my stomach and everyone loved the food. Best restaurant I've been to for a long time.
as fresh as BBC promised
I heared about the restaurant when the BBC did a taste test. New Samsi came top and we can see why. The sushi was the freshest I've had in the UK. The Salmon was better than anywhere else in the world but I suppose we should expect that being so close to Scotland. I was surprised how fresh the tuna...
